Make concept videos with your own agent
Specframe Studio is a toolkit for Claude Code and Codex. Ask your agent for “videos for every key concept in my course” and it plans the concepts with Specframe, makes each video on your computer and sends it back for review.
Run these commands inside Claude Code:
/plugin marketplace add Specframe/specframe-studio /plugin install specframe-studio@specframe
The plugin includes the Specframe MCP connection, so Claude Code can reach your projects once you sign in.
Clone the harness and link its skills into Codex (~/.agents/skills):
git clone https://github.com/Specframe/specframe-studio.git cd specframe-studio scripts/install-codex.sh
specframe setup specframe doctor
specframe setup uses uv to install Python 3.13 and Manim 0.20.1, then checks LaTeX, ffmpeg and fonts. specframe doctor checks the whole environment, including a real MathTex render and access to your ElevenLabs voice. Run it again whenever something looks wrong.
Claude Code users get the connection with the plugin. In Codex, or to connect another client, follow the Specframe MCP setup. Sign in with your Specframe account and choose the workspace that holds your course.
The current version is 0.4.0. Your agent sends its harness version with each video, and the MCP’s harness_status tells it when an update is available. A version below the minimum is refused with the same instructions.
# Claude Code claude plugin update specframe-studio@specframe # Codex or another git install, in the harness folder git pull # Then, either way specframe setup
Changes are listed in the repository’s changelog.
Every video uploads its working files with it: the plan, the scenes, the narration and its timings. To change one passage, ask your agent, for example, “redo 03:31–03:39 of the gradient video, the explanation is too quick”. It fetches the files, re-renders and re-voices only the scenes in that range, and uploads the new version for review. The rest of the video is left as it was.
specframe fetch gradient --asset asset.json specframe edit gradient --range 03:31-03:39 "Slow down the step from rise to run" specframe edit gradient --apply
In our 16 October 2026 pilot, each 2-minute video used about 1,750 ElevenLabs characters and 15–45 minutes of agent time. Model tokens come from your Claude Code or Codex allowance, and Specframe adds no charge for inference or rendering.
Before making a whole library, compare models: ask your agent to “make these three concepts with both Claude and Codex and run a blind trial”. Then open your project in Specframe and choose Evaluations. You watch the videos labelled A and B with their lengths hidden, pick the one you prefer, and only then see which recipe made each one, with its time, narration and token use. Arms can differ in more than the model: the skill version, the harness, the voice or the render settings. An owner or admin can make the winner the project’s preset for the full library.
